I was standing at the stove holding a sweet potato in one hand and a fork in the other.

It’s a power snack. I bake them, split the skin along the top, sprinkle some salt on them, and eat them straight out of the skin. So many vitamins, such a good energy boost, and no mess or dishes.

Girl1 with the blue eyes was standing in front of me.

“Mommy, is that too spicy for mine yittle tongue?”

Of course I gave her a bite. How could you not? But she wasn’t remotely impressed. She ran, gasping, to the trash can and spit and drooled into it until every bit was gone from her “yittle tongue”. Then she marched back to me with teary eyes and angrily announced:

“That is just toooooo yucky for mine yittle face!”

Well. So much for sweet potato power.

I still like them.

How do you eat your sweet potatoes? Hubby doesn’t. I’ll eat them almost any
way. Baked with sugar and cinnamon, baked with salt, broiled, french fried, candied.  I love me my sweet potatoes. Especially as a side to fried fish. Oh man.

It’s lunch time.
